Calsi: The club's monologues

Among the variety of professional meetings there are, congresses, conferences, symposia, seminars, etc. .- I think the case of the workshops is the furthest from its definition. Although masked by the English term Workshop, it is still more than a workshop, which in my opinion emphasizes the interaction and exchange of ideas in teamwork. And is not that what we saw in the latest edition of the Workshop Calsi, although the papers were masked under the title of round tables.

When I attended the first evening of the Workshop, and saw that he was attending a series of monologues, with little option to the reply and discussion, I chalked the delay of the inauguration of the event and the limited participation that sometimes given by the public. But the following days, the trend was the same: what should have been a presentation of basic ideas of each speaker and an interesting debate between different approaches and points of view, there was only a monologue after another, neither refuted nor answered.

Others have reflected on their blogs what there was said and saw, but what was said outside the cafe, at breaks, was how much I was missing that exchange-not-exposure of ideas among fellow members, and that was the real reason we were all there.

There was some attempt to turn the monologue into a conversation, but in vain. Against the energizing of the table themselves, developing the Workshop followed the path he had started and ended as it had begun.

He tried many and varied aspects of digital documents, with greater or lesser interest to the attendees, with more or less discrepancy between the speakers, but no conclusion could be drawn from all this, unless it was their own.

Not that I put my hands on my head or I'm surprised by how developed the session, not the first time that we let ourselves be carried away by our interest in this profession, and I guess we're cured of terror.

After all, the final reason to continue attending such events is the reunion with old friends and colleagues, exchange ideas and power-this time-people like Catuxa and Vanessa, Javier, Didac and Marcos.

So until next time.

This time, I can not add anything. I could not attend, although I would have liked to attend the session on Web 2.0, especially for experts to tell me some points which I can not be clear.

However, this work has its negatives and end can not attend at all what you'd like. A pity because I know that Javier was in Valencia and for various reasons could not come to greet him.

Over dinner, very informative, it is curious how much I have left to learn. See you at another time, without hesitation.

  2. Dídac says:

This is the sincere and constructive criticism just a friend you can do. I assume my share of responsibility, as I start thinking about a diapo PowerPoints for every 2 minutes and not for each 1, or mark a very limited maximum slide (15, for example).

In any case, I can assure you that intimidates be qualified in these forums, something to another teammate.

and PowerPoint in the next round table take 43 slides ... and I start to blur.

Taambien was a pleasure to see you again

  3. Didac not think that is a criticism of the speakers, rather against the event organizers.
Sure I said, "you have 20 minutes to count your roll" and adding, adding, no longer had time for anything else.
It should have been somewhat shorter in each statement and, in the debate, all the time in the world to develop and defend the ideas of each. While I understand that this is much more engaged, is what really rich.
In any event a pleasure to listen.

And Mark, in the FESABID missed me, now you, but while there is someone to tell ...

  4. [...] We had no time for a debate that featured very appealing, they lived up to their statements and even rushed to [...]
