The need to normalize your signature when posting

Enredando Sin comentarios | Versión Imprimible Tuesday, January 29th, 2008 Marcos Ros-Martín Enredando No comments | Printer Friendly

As a neophyte author to publish this text in "atomic format", I've noticed three things:

  1. It is difficult for you to publish an idea.
  2. It is difficult to write for a print publication.
  3. It's hard to hit with your name.

Because of my two very poor ones published, it seems that no one can accurately by the name of the author. If we bear in mind that librarians and archivists have been the first to try to formalize and standardize the way in which authors publish their texts, in my case, I would say Alvaro Roldán on the blacksmith, a wooden knife.

As author, I have a little left in my signature. The first, librarians without Gutenberg, signed it as Marcos Ros along with the address of this blog because it has always been as I signed my texts unnecessary considering the maternal surname. However, I soon realized my mistake and at the second opportunity I had to publish the text was more productive Web 2.0, I opted for the name Marcos Martín Ros. So we have two variations of signatures in two articles for one person.

However, I have attended both surprised that a little funny how I have been renamed in various occasions. . The first time the error was detected on the blog DosPuntoCero, referring to the special issue on Web 2.0 and Library Education magazine, so I called Mark Ros Garcia.

Obviously, this slip has no importance, but the complexion changes when Dialnet my name is, in fact, Marcos Martínez Ros.

Where not happen anything, if it were not assigned to Marcos Ros Sempere, who has published another text, an article of mine.

So, I find two articles in which I refer to three different names, which leads me to seriously consider the normalization of my signature, as recommended in the latest issue of The Information Professional in the Text Normalization of information: the contribution of IraLIS, so I discharged. The reasons (although they sense):

Authors who signed with all its official name (as it appears on your ID card, passport, driving license, Social Security card, etc..) Are often unpleasantly surprised to have their work published in journals are referenced in search engines, OAI in deposits and international databases in different ways-has been interpreted as the producer of the database or resource in question, so gather your personal bibliography is sometimes very difficult.

The fact that a signature is composed of many elements also contributes to the author's strong work in different ways.

So now I am Marcos Ros-Martín, even within this blog, another day if we publish something of interest. "Next step?, Now that I have corrected my file at Elis. A chip in the directory Exit? No, I think we still are not worthy.

Update (30/1/2008): It seems that after the publication of this post have been librarians to work and have fixed the mess. Thank you!
